Material Introduction: PA66 LANXESS A30S (Germany LANXESS) is an unreinforced general‑purpose injection‑molding PA66 resin. Its core advantages include good mechanical strength, wear resistance, self‑lubricating property, extremely fast solidification speed and excellent demolding performance, with UL94 V‑2 flame retardant rating. Its inherent water‑absorption property will affect dimensional stability and partial performances (large performance difference between dry and conditioned state); strict drying is mandatory before processing.

Main Applications

Automotive industry: Various automotive parts such as engine peripheral components and structural parts.

Mechanical parts: Bearings, gears, pulleys, pump impellers, fan blades, sealing rings, wear‑resistant bushings, valve seats, oil pipelines and oil reservoirs.

Electronic‑electrical industry: Electric coils, cable joints, switches and other components requiring electrical insulation performance.

Injection Molding Parameters

Processing Item Recommended Range / Condition Notes & Explanations
Drying Treatment Hot‑air drying at 80 ℃ for at least 4 h; extend drying time or adopt vacuum drying at 100‑105 ℃ under high‑humidity environment. Critical operation. Control moisture content ≤0.2% to avoid hydrolysis‑induced bubbles, silver streaks and mechanical‑property deterioration. Use immediately after drying or seal and keep warm properly.
Melt Temperature 280 ℃. Fine‑tune according to equipment and part geometry. Avoid temperature>300 ℃ or long residence‑time to prevent material degradation.
Mold Temperature 80 ℃. Proper mold temperature ensures good crystallinity and surface appearance.
Injection Pressure Adjust per product & mold design. General products:100‑160 MPa (1000‑1600 bar); thin‑wall / long‑flow‑path parts:up to 180 MPa (1800 bar). Excessive pressure will cause flash.
Injection Speed 200 mm/s or relatively fast speed. Fast filling is beneficial; good mold venting is required to prevent scorching.
Back Pressure 2‑8 MPa (20‑80 bar). Precise adjustment required; excessive back pressure leads to uneven plasticization.
Screw Speed Low screw speed is preferred, finish plasticization before cooling cycle ends; high screw speed (linear velocity 1 m/s) is allowed with low screw torque. Avoid excessive shear heat generation.
Runner & Gate Spot gate, submarine gate, film gate and direct gate are applicable; blind holes & gate wells are suggested for cold slug removal; hot runner with closed‑loop temperature control is available. Short solidification time of PA66, gate design & location are critical for filling.
Shutdown Notice No purging material required for shutdown; melt residence time in barrel shall not exceed 20 min to avoid thermal degradation; turn off heating system for long‑term shutdown.
Recycled Material Usage Approx.10% regrind material is allowed. Excessive addition will degrade performance.
